20 yam (suran) slices
1 tsp chilli powder
1 1/2 tbsp tamarind (imli) pulp
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/2 tsp coriander (dhania) powder
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder
2 tsp rice flour (chawal ka atta)
salt to taste
3 tbsp oil
Boil the yam in a deep non-stick pan with enough water for 6 to 8 minutes.
Drain. Keep aside.
Combine the chilli powder, tamarind pulp, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin seeds powder, rice flour and salt in a deep bowl and mix well.
Coat each yam slice with the prepared masala, from both the sides. Keep aside.
Heat the oil in a non-stick tava (griddle) and cook the coated yam slices on a medium flame till they turn brown in colour from both the sides.
Serve immediately.
